Waters v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis [1997] IRLR 589 CA

Ms Waters, a police constable, joined the Metropolitan Police in 1987, and in February 1988 was stationed at Harrow Road police station. She lived in a room in the section house. In the early hours of 15 February, while Ms Waters was off duty, a male police constable, who was also off duty, came to her room. They decided to go for a walk together and then returned to the section house. Ms Waters alleged that she was then raped and buggered in her room by the male police officer.
